Lindsey Cline has long been obsessed with musical theatre and playful, creative movement. From living room performances of Dirty Dancing and West Side Story, to getting stuck in a tree (last week), Lindsey loves to sing, dance, move, and explore!
Lindsey grew up in eastern NC with her two wonderful parents, and her two goofy cats. She participated in the theatre programs of her public middle and high schools and attended NC Governor’s School for Theatre before earning her BFA in Musical Theatre from Western Carolina University.
While working with regional and touring children’s theatre productions, Lindsey discovered her love of education and working with students. She has worked with children all over the country as a teaching artist/director with Missoula Children’s Theatre, The Old Creamery Theatre Company, and Mainstages, and with thousands of students in the NYC metro area as an Education Specialist at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
Lindsey earned her MA in Educational Theatre P-12 from Adelphi University and currently teaches Theatre 1, Film 1 & 2, and 9th Grade ELA courses at Alta HS in Sandy, UT. In addition to teaching, Lindsey directs and coaches year-round with Alta’s theatre department. In her four years at Alta, student awards and recognitions include four Region Championship Theatre teams, multiple top 3 placements in 5A Region and State competitions, top 3 duo scene placement in the National HS Shakespeare Competition, Best Actress in a musical nominee (top 10 in state), Canyons District Film Festival short film and animated short nominees, student short story submissions and publications, and student acceptances into prestigious undergraduate theatre programs including Pace University and The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.
Lindsey and her husband, Beau, live in beautiful Salt Lake City with their dog, Buddy Mjolnir Cline-Wilson. When she’s not teaching or performing, Lindsey can be found curled up with a cup of coffee and a book, watching horror movies on the elliptical, or re-watching The Office.
